Description
• Cilnidipine:
A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, reducing the force of the heart’s pump.
• Telmisartan:
An angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks substances tightening blood vessels, allowing smoother blood flow and reducing the heart’s workload.
• Combined effect:
More effective at lowering blood pressure and protecting the heart and kidneys.
Uses
• Hypertension (high blood pressure).
• May also be used for heart-related chest pain (angina).
Common side effects
• Headache, dizziness, fatigue.
• Nasal congestion, sore throat, sinus inflammation.
• Nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea.
• Back pain.
Important considerations
• Take as prescribed: Take it at the same time daily, even if feeling well, and don’t stop suddenly.
• With or without food: Can be taken with or without food, but swallow whole.
• Precautions: Inform your doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver/kidney issues, allergies, or other medications.
• Driving: May cause dizziness, so drive only if alert.
• Potassium: Can increase potassium levels; avoid supplements and potassium-rich foods like bananas.
